Today we’ll discuss the unfortunately pervasive effects of nihilism seen in recent news. From the destructiveness of Hamas and whoever shot down a Malaysian passenger plane this week, to our President’s shameful response to the latter, and even to the structure of player contracts in basketball and the politicization of classic superheroes in comics. See Program Notes, below, for links to all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss.

Amy, good to have you and DLIGU back. Missed my program last week!
What I found most revealing in Obama’s Malaysian response were his words: “looks like it may be a terrible tragedy.” May be? May be a tragedy? May be terrible? Did you catch this?
Obama is so detached from reality, that he cannot even identify a tragedy or empathize in the slightest with innocent human victims. To him, death and suffering, no matter the scale, are the equivalent of losing one’s car keys.
Best, Cary
Nullifying my comment is a symptom of nihilism.
Your “comment” was a link with a one-word introduction. The url was unfamiliar to me, and it did not match the title. So I was protecting my readers from clicking on a link I thought might be spam. Not nihilistic, and certainly not “censorship,” as you tried to say in another comment. Only government can censor.
It is not true that ” Only government can censor”, individuals also censor that which threatens their identity. Here is a link explaining the act of censorship: http://marques.co.za/duke/censor.html
